De textiel is letterlijk en figuurlijk doorweven met herinneringen. Sommige vrouwen uit het Noorden van Irak die in 1988 om het leven kwamen tijdens de massamoord op de Koerden droegen hoofddoeken van deze stof. De stof is zacht en delicaat, maar daardoor ook kwetsbaar, net als de positie van de vrouwen in Oosterse culturen.

The textile is entwined with memories, literally and figuratively. Some of the women from Northern Iraq, who died in the mass murder of the Kurds in 1988, wore headscarves of this fabric. The cloth is soft and delicate, but because of that also vulnerable.
It represents the position of the woman in Eastern cultures.
