The year 1988
The textile is entwined with memories, literally and figuratively. Some of the women from Northern Iraq, who died in the mass murder of the Kurds in 1988, wore headscarves of this fabric. The cloth is soft and delicate, but because of that also vulnerable. It represents the position of the woman in Eastern cultures.
